History of
Forno Rosso

Nick Nitti is of Italian descent and lived in Italy for many years throughout his childhood. As a child, Nick remembers taking road trips in Italy with his family stopping in every city and small village cramped in his father's Fiat Uno.  This is where Nick was able to experience the true beauty of Italian cuisine.

One day while traveling to visit Pompeii his father stopped in Napoli and he ate his 1st pizza Napoletana at a small pizzeria in the heart of Naples.  You never forget your 1st bite, after returning to Chicago for many years Nick was finally able to revisit Naples in 2012 to study the art of Pizza Napoletana. There he trained under one of Napoli's best Pizzaiolos.  After completing all his certifications with VPN Nick returned to Chicago to open Forno Rosso Pizzeria Napoletana, on Harlem Avenue.  In 2016 Nick opened his 2nd location in Chicago's booming West Loop on Randolph St.

Forno Rosso Pizzeria Napoletana is part of the (VPN) Verace Pizza Napoletana. The VPN is the American Delegation of the Association VERA PIZZA NAPOLETANA an international non-for profit organization founded in the mid-1980s by a group of Neapolitan Pizzaiolos (pizza Makers) seeking to cultivate the culinary art of making Pizza Napoletana.
